Farewell

Thank you to those who have been coming back to check up on this space for updates. Unfortunately, I won't be updating this blog anymore. It took me some time to declare this because this blog holds great memories. But I am learning to embrace a new life in this new country, and have moved on to another platform to record my entries. I am doing well, and I certainly hope you are too.
With love, Rachel

Slothkyul

Just lying in bed and rolling around for the past hour. Refusing to exercise lol.

RACHEL U SLOTHHEAD.

Met up with the Tays and Yeos for dinner yesterday.

"So rachel what are your hobbies?"
"I don't exactly have any hobbies? I just prefer spending my time being busy with things. Working/ meeting friends/ GB and such."
"So the idea of staying at home just bores you?"
"Yeah kind of"
"That's going to change when you come here. You can't force a hobby on yourself but it'd be good to pick something up when you're there. Cooking/craft/the outdoors."

Yes it will change. And I'm going to be evolve I to Rachel the super slothhead as well.

Just posting for the sake if updating this space hahaha ok bye

Turning 20

Turned 20 today, and these two showed up at 12 midnight. Sort of suspected something was going on but was still deeply touched to see them. Especially when they were so tired from a long day.

Thanks for coming down and making the effort to do so. And also spending money on the exam kit, you 2 broke girls. I'll love you two even though you become poor beggars and shower you with all the soap and shampoo you will need, xoxo love y'all. Looking forward to our grad trip muahahahahahhahahahahahah

3 MORE MONTHS

It's December.
God knows how many times the world has said it. But... how did time fly past so fast.
I'm looking forward to graduation. But it also means the new road to change. How did the three years go by so fast. I still remember the excitement I had being selected FOC and the 'new-ness' of entering Ngee Ann. Anyway, I went to stock up on my heattech clothes for my Dec trip. It's going to be so different celebrating Christmas and New Years in a new environment. Hoping I'll be able to get closer to my sister through this trip since we've all finally grown up.

On the side note, today my biz psych tutor brought her kids to class and we did an experiment on them.
It went like that:

*Experimenter took three biscuits, placed two at the experimenter's side, and one at the kid's side*

"That is yours, this is mine. Is it fair?"
"No"

"Why?"
"Because you have more, and I don't have more"
"So is that not fair?"
"No"

*Experimenter breaks the kid's one biscuit into two*

"Is that fair"
"Yes!"

I love school.

Film 2013

So here are the developed film photos. Not very happy with this batch, I'm not sure if it's because I bought film which had too high ISO. Or it's just me. But then again, I always loved the thrill of developing film.

INTJ

Googling the personality traits of INTJ and nodding and laughing along with every sentence.
Every personality type has many weak spots and INTJs are not an exception. There is one area where their brilliant mind often becomes completely useless and may even hinder their efforts – INTJs find it very difficult to handle romantic relationships, especially in their earliest stages. People with this personality type are more than capable of loving and taking care of the people close to them, but they are likely to be completely clueless when it comes to attracting a partner.
The main reason behind this is that INTJ personalities are both private and incredibly rational – they find it very difficult to understand the complex social rituals that are considered part of the dating game, especially in Western societies. Things like flirting or small talk are unnatural to them; furthermore, INTJs (especially females) tend to see typical attraction tactics (such as feigning disinterest) as incredibly stupid and irrational.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

/Edit
Did a more accurate Myers Briggs personality test at school last Friday through the official personality test, and turned out I was an ENTJ. Had fully convinced myself of my traits as an INTJ since I did it online. Not much of a difference though, I think I'm an ENTJ at work and INTJ out of work. Split personality much lol.

/Edit again
"Romance can sometimes be a big problem for the tough, skeptical ENTJ personality because ENTJs are not naturally in tune with other people's feelings. They are much more interested in intellectual pursuits and power. In the earlier stages of life, as adolescents, ENTJs can withdraw easily from romantic situations if they get hurt. They practice complete control of their emotions and impulses from a very early age and can block out romantic pursuits and even family if they are continuously hurt in relationships. They may not show that they're hurt, but will dramatically change their approach to people in that regard. Later in life, the same ENTJ can realize that some people are worth every effort."

I can't stop being more amused on the accuracy of these personality tests.

Head in the game

I am incredibly distracted. Just spent the past 1.5 hours doing nothing but searching on random things, i.e. how to tie a sock bun, feminism, false positives in HR, thoughtcatalogue. Lol the list goes on.

It's 3.27pm and on Rachel's To-Dos' by the end of today, we have:
  • Social Psych assignment due tomorrow
  • Start on Viet trip 6-page assignment (that I have delayed for about 1.5 weeks)
  • Cover letter for consultation
  • GB Drill camp log
  • Walk and bathe the doggies (and the sky has been rumbling for the longest time ever)
Yup, well played Rachel.

iDARE September 13

My beloved SFs :')

Wenhui's early 19th @ Studio M

It has been a wonderful break. I can truly say that after 5 semesters of school. I could travel and have NOTHING at the back of my head that I had to keep my mind on.

The study trip was pretty fun! Visiting companies and finding out more about industry practices. Got to know my coursemates and lecturers better too. Wasn't very excited with the idea of going to Vietnam because we were initially supposed to go to Korea. But it still exceeded my expectations, especially our hotel rooms.

Flew solo to Brisbane one day after returning from Vietnam. I really enjoyed myself there. Although there is absolutely nothing much to do or explore in Brisbane. The entire culture and pace makes me feel so, at ease. I always loved seeing the sky, and the fact that you could see the entire sky without trees/buildings crowding your view was really therapeutic. It was so, big and peaceful. People are so friendly and civilised over there. Brought my film camera there too so I'm gonna be developing them soon!

And before all that, there was iDARE. My 4th and last iDARE. It is so different being an SSF actually, I really miss being an SF. But I guess nothing beats seeing your own SF team become closer in friendship and grow in chemistry. It was a long journey but I'm glad to see them taking off.

Pages are turning and I'm into my final semester in school. 3/4 of my friends are all at internship. School is going to feel twice as empty and draining. I'm really worried about projects but I'm ready to conquer my final sem. And to really cherish the months I have left here. Am really mentally preparing myself so much so I can take off without any emotional attachments back here.
