Oh What a Month

I am a failure in wanting to make this a lifestyle blog. Didn't post a single thing for close to 2 months. Also, I have not developed my film photos yet (eeps) cos I didn't have a chance to bring it out. So, whatever I 'promised' in my previous blog post..... well..... heh.

So here is just an update of what happened over the past few weeks. It's also for me to refresh my memory of the outings/catch ups/etc, cos my weeks have been so packed. THUS the main reason why there are no updates in this blog. Or maybe it's just subjected to my laziness.

Anyway, for the holidays. It went really well! GB ATC camp was a success, the committee was such a cooperative bunch of young ladies. Enjoyed myself during envoys camp, and then there was Bangkok! Shopped day and night. And stocked up my wardrobe for the rest of the semester. Can't express how much I love the clothes in bangkok, even though the quality isn't that promising, cheap buys still overules EVERYTHING. Met the girls pretty often during the holidays too!

And when school started, the recruitment for iDARE begun. I am so glad to be working with this team of.... shameless people who are not afraid of making a fool of themselves, but yet they are such a joy to be with. It's not everyday that you get to work with people who have the same passion in impacting and changing lives. I have so much to improve on from being an SF from the previous round. And this may be my last iDARE for all I know, and it is also my last time working with this team. So yeah, I'm really cherishing and treasuring the time with them.

And, NAOMI VISITED FROM AUSTRALIA. I was so glad to see my deskbuddy of 2 years. It felt like nothing changed. Her, together with the fatass kids, it was like the same old days in KCP. I enjoyed every single minute with her, and of course together with the rest. Time spent with her was so precious, and I am so glad I got to see her after 1.5 years :')

I don't have that much photos, but I will just sum the whole time with her into one sentence. I quote Sarah "Sometimes, meeting up with old friends makes me feel like I got a free ticket for a trip back in time, I love it"

Last Sat, it was mascot Joyce's birthday. A few of us went down to surprise her. It was really epic, LIKE REALLY EPIC. I should have recorded down the phonecall with her and taken a video. But meh, I didn't. I shall not post individual photos of her in her PJs (trust me, I have a LOT). But, yes, seeing her in PJs and mad hair, was just priceless. YAY #JOYCELIMJIAYING! (Funfact: did you know, #joycelimjiaying trended on twitter SG before, POPULAR GIRL MUCH)

Anyway, I baked red velvet cupcakes (cos that's like the only thing I can bake) for her, and I experimented with Oreos after learning it from baking @ Oli's place when Naomi was around.

It was by far one of my best bakes of Red Velvet cupcakes. But I really have to start baking things other than red velvet. I'm planning to bake Salted Caramel cupcakes during the hols. So yay!

Lastly, GB celebrated her 85th Anniversary last Sunday. It was good to see familiar faces of some GB girls and officers again. I've been going back to GB HQ every week for the past few weeks, and I am glad I'm investing my time in this organisation. It's really amazing to see all the old officers sticking with GB for over decades. I mean, they could have given their time and effort to everything else. But pouring out years of their time and love to GB, I truly respect to these ladies. I met this lady during the anniversary dinner, I don't think I can disclose anything she said in detail on the internet. But it was so inspiring seeing how she was going beyond borders to help other ladies. Of her opening bible schools, and reaching out to the locals, doing her best to support these small family businesses by bringing their products to SG. The GB Officers are so amazing and capable, I sometimes feel like I really am not doing anything useful with my time. Anyway, here are the photos!

The lady in the middle was my NDP Officer back when Huiting and I were in the NDP '09 Contingent.
IT WAS SO GOOD TO SEE HER AGAIN.

It's so good to be back in GB again. Even when I sort of paused my GB activities for half a year back when I was year 1, I always wanted to be back. Main reason was because the officers there are so supportive, and I know how great the change it made in my life. Really thank God for His blessings to the 28th, and seeing it through so many years of growing leaders.

ANYWAY. Yes, this has been a chunk of wordy highlights from the past 7-8 weeks. TILL THEN, I am not going to promise any new posts. Coz exams are coming up. And also, even though I am always saying I am 'free-er' than usual because I'm not as involved in school blahblahblah. But... MEH, I don't think it's ever possible. Coz this definition of being 'free-er', has instead become use-my-free-days-for-other-things-and-so-now-i-am-busy. Okay so this just justifies the fact that I can't stand being free. Lol, btw I got a holiday job for the Sept/Oct hols (again). HAHAHA OKAY ALL THE BEST FOR EXAMS!
